Actually Benedict technically never were AT the Oscars, he just hung out at Elton John’s Oscar viewing party together with that model “friend” (not said in a vicious way) of his. That’s why he was never on the red carpet.
One thing to look out for though would be Martin at this year’s Oscara with the nominations for The Hobbit, albeit mostly technical ones, the cast is sure to be there if they are available to.
Also, when Benedict mouthed “sorry”, during Dominic West’s speech at the BAFTA’s, it was because the winner’s sister had rooted for him to win – or so Dominic West said in his speech. So he apologized to his sister for not winning when she had had her hopes up for him.. awww.. still 🙂
Sorry I didn’t get this posted before Ep3 came out, but I’m perpetually late.
Anyway, great job, all of you. I really like all the speculation and watching back over the episodes and theories everyone is presenting.
Hubby and I were talking about the Sherlock/John slash aspect of fanfiction and he feels that it would never work because Sherlock would always have a controlling part. He consistently manipulates people all around him and would do so in their relationship as well. I disagree with my husband on the sole basis that he ALREADY manipulates John; why would a sexual component added to their friendship be any different? I don’t think it will ever show up in the show, though, because that would alter their friendship beyond what the producers want (and most shows die off after such a change), but I enjoy seeing that change happen in fanfiction.
